Episode One – Go by Tokyo Smoke “Apple Pie”

If there is one thing to say about Netflix’s new Tiger King docuseries, it’s that you have no clue what you’re in for. One part funny, two parts appalling, and ten million parts unbelievable, episode one is a roller coaster of emotions.

Our pairing for this episode is going to keep you on a steady mellow track while you absorb Joe Exotic and the scary as hell world of tiger – heavy quotations marks – sanctuaries. Go by Tokyo Smoke AKA “Apple Pie” HAS to lead us off. It’s a potent sativa that can hit hard but still leaves you fairly relaxed with a clear enough head to dive right into what is going to be a hell of a ride.

Episode 2 – Purple Chitral by San Rafael ’71

This Strain Gets Us

Alright so you’ve crushed episode one and the travesty that is Joe’s Exotics mullet has finally sunk in. It’s time to get blasted with at least four more inconceivable humans and dive deep into the big cat world. This is an episode meant for deep thinking, time go down the wormhole of cult psychology and come out the other end still wondering how Bhagavan Antle pulled it off. Side recommendation for this pairing – Wild Wild Country – less tigers, equally crazy, and the cult leader is also named Bhag-something.

Purple Chitral from San Rafael ’71 will put you in the safe space you need for episode two. Just when you thought you had a feel for the series your world is about to explode. This mid-strength Indica is the right choice to sit back and soak it all in.

Episode 3 – White Widow by 7Acres

This episode we move on from what we now think is some form of cult docuseries to what now appears to be a true crime cold case. I’ll be honest, it was tough to take this one seriously. If there was one situation most people would be faking their own death, it would be marriage to Carol Baskin (cue picture of Carol’s current husband leashed in a tiger costume). So let’s throw away the cold case conjecture and keep this one light with a nice pairing of White Widow from 7Acres. An old reliable. Episode 3 doesn’t know where to take you and White Widow’s consistently hybrid experience will do the trick just fine.

Episode 4 – Chowie Wowie THC Chocolates

Ok I’ve officially given up trying to assign a theme to this show, if anything episode four is a case study on how not to do business or.. well.. anything for that matter. This episode is another roller coaster but now that you’re all grown up and fully prepared for anything it’s time to send off. No mellow track this time, switch it up and let ‘er buck. This series isn’t getting less weird and it’s going to require your full undivided attention. We all know nothing says commitment like edibles. Take your favourite dose of Chowie Wowie THC milk chocolates and get mentally prepared. When they kick in hit play.

Episode 5 – LA Confidential by Aurora

We are about to get presidential – It’s time for some LA Confidential.. This Indica will give you the chill but functional backdrop you need to follow Joe on his latest and most outlandish pursuit yet. Joe exotic for president!? Are you kidding me?!, I can’t even, I just can’t. As comical as the presidential run is, the level of support on the governor campaign is straight scary. Tack on some real tragedy and this is a horror plain and simple, and be warned, it gets dark.

Episode 6 – Unplug by Solei

Murder plot? Why not! Time to throw in a legit crime thriller highlighted by bath tub informants, google earth stalking, and casual attempts at murder. We’re back to a level where this show is so outrageous it’s best watched from the clouds. Keep it lofty and hit Unplug from Solei- an old reliable hybrid that will get you there.

Episode 7 – San Fernando Valley – Kiwi Cannabis

Hey all you cool cats and kittens…that was a ride! We need a little R&R to get us back to level. Kiwi’s high CBD strain San Fernando Valley will do just the trick.
