One of Alberta’s original local producers will be officially introducing their products to the Alberta market this month.
Established in 2018, Choice Growers is headquartered in Strathmore, Alberta, and has been serving the B.C. and Saskatchewan markets since its inception. After four years, the company is thrilled to be bringing their diverse range of products back home.
“Our goal is always to be the obvious, easy choice for consumers,” says Jessica Preeper, key account and media manager at Choice Growers. “We pride ourselves on carrying products that are both high quality and affordable. It’s important to us to make craft-quality cannabis accessible. Everyone has a different reason for using cannabis and it fits into everyone’s life differently. We want to promote a positive cannabis experience for all.”
The 9,300 square foot grow facility underwent a full renovation to fulfill Choice Growers specific vision, which includes the installation of their unique fog-fed aeroponic system. This computer-controlled “fog-ponic” system supports an accelerated growth process with almost zero waste, allowing Choice to cultivate high-quality products while remaining committed to sustainable practices.
The company’s extensive line of carefully crafted, hand-trimmed strains includes Canadian favourites like Grapefruit God Bud, Blackberry Cheesecake, and their most popular product – the Jeffrey. This unique pre-roll contains a variety of small, meticulously grown batches blended with trichomes collected from the hand trimming process. Each Jeffrey provides an individual experience within a consistent terpene profile and high THC levels of 25 to 31 per cent.
While Choice is excited to be expanding and finally supplying their home market, Preeper makes it clear that their original values remain the same. “We hold ourselves to a high standard,” she says, “and what really sets us apart is that we’re not the little guys trying to become the big guys – we’re local craft and that’s exactly how we like it. Staying small and thinking big.”
The remainder of 2022 promises to be big for Choice Growers – in addition to expanding to the Alberta market this month, they will also be launching in Ontario shortly after.
The company is also in the process of pursuing their extracts license and hopes to have new products on the market by the end of the year. Finally, keeping sustainability at the forefront, they also plan to explore a more environmentally-friendly approach in the form of minimalist, hemp-based packaging.
