Curated Cannabis – Quarantine Edition Part II
A comprehensive cannabis pairing guide for our neighbors to enjoy.
I first realized that things were getting weird when I found myself sitting on the couch at 2 PM on a Tuesday watching ABC spark, with a moustache. In my defense, 66% of this situation is explainable by social distancing measures and an Adam Sandler movie marathon on TV. The moustache however, story for another time.
For the first time in 20 years I had the ability to mass consume Adam Sandler content and see how each movie held up over time. Not only that, I got to see how they held up against each other. So here you have it, top 5 Adam Sandler movies ranked by a 35 year old man with a moustache sitting on his couch on a Tuesday -Ranked by the Test of Time:
5) Billy Madison (Formerly #1) – MK Ultra by Aurora
Billy Madison is still a classic that flashes hilarity, it’s one-liners are ingrained in speech today and everyone knows that O’doyle rules! This movie set the tone for Sandler’s success, however you can tell it’s a work in progress. Unfortunately, this was the only movie that consistently lost my attention. Any non comedic dialogue is hard to listen to and the antagonist isn’t nearly as strong as other movies. Sad to see my teenage number one fall from grace but I’d say you could wrap this one up in a 20 minute youtube highlight reel. We recommend MK Ultra by Aurora. The calming but engaging high will help turn your brain off and bridge the boring gaps.
4) Waterboy (Formerly #3) – Sweet Jersey 3 by Riff
“Water sucks, Gatorade is better!”
Like Billy Madison, the Waterboy lives on the brilliance of one-liners. The separating factors for me were small improvements in character dialogue and some subtle laughs snuck in between the easy slapstick humour. Scenes like Bobby choosing the hard class that has a view of the water fountain or the highlight of another team trying out their towel boy at WR get me. The dialog between Bobby and opposing players is also extremely well executed. I was very surprised with how well this movie holds up, even though there may be a shift in where the laughs are coming from. Waterboy is just asking for a high THC sativa to match its outrageous energy. Suh-Suh-Suh-Sweet Jersey 3 by Riff brings what we need.
3) Click (Formerly Unranked) – Great White Shark by San Raphael ’71

Great White Shark – One of our all time favourite CBD strains
The only moving I’m pulling in from outside the 90’s. Click is an all-around enjoyable movie and actually seems to be one of Sandler’s better performances as an actor. The thing I really like about this movie is that Sandler’s role is more balanced and they utilize Christopher Walken’s supporting role for the wackier comedy. Click ranks high for me for the same reasons that I’d argue Wedding Crashers and Old School are better movies than Anchorman, that’s an argument for another Tuesday though. Before we get too far down the rabbit hole try some Great White Shark CBD from San Raphael. This strain is one of our all-time favourite CBD strains. It has a nice light high that will set the perfect backdrop for Click.
2) The Wedding Singer (Formerly #6) – Kosher Kush by DNA Genetics
Similar to Click, this is an all-around good movie with comedic and plot balance. Generally the characters are believable and likeable and the 80’s vibe is very well executed. While this movie loses some of the highs that you will get from others like The Waterboy and Billy Madison, it’s easily the most watchable from start to finish. The only real question is where does one hire a modern-day wedding singer anyways? There is one strain in particular that can match the same ceremonial vibe as the wedding singer, Kosher Kush. From the OGs at DNA genetics believe it or not this strain has been blessed by a Rabbi. Mazel Tov.
1) Happy Gilmore (Formerly #2 )– Savary by Broken Coast

Broken Coast’s Instant Classic, Savary
Happy Gilmore is summed up as a whole by possibly one of the best all-time dialogues:
“I eat pieces of s*** like you for breakfast”
“You eat pieces of s*** for breakfast?”
This dialog exemplifies the combination of raw humor and wit that sets Happy Gilmore apart. A powerful antagonist in Shooter, the mom from Modern Family as a love interest, and the underlying theme of Happy maintaining that he’s a hockey player throughout the movie all come together to make a watchable and hilarious movie. Happy Gilmore is the clear powerhouse of the Sandler reign. Happy Gilmore is the holy grail of Sandler movies. Broken Coast is the holy grail of Cannabis. If you haven’t tried Broken Coast’s product you owe it to yourself. Pick up Savary, an expertly grown sativa, to get into your happy place.
Enjoy!
