Halloween, a time honoured tradition, is mostly canceled this year, which one can only describe as devastating. But that doesn’t mean we can’t bask in the glory of what Halloween used to represent. Candy, nostalgia, and the great equalizer- Cannabis. Get comfortable and turn on a spooky movie because we are about to pair the Halloween Candy Power Rankings with their sativa, hybrid, or indica equivalent.
Don’t tell anyone but the LA times did most of the heavy lifting for us. Besides let’s be real, we are mostly here for the Cannabis.
The Definitive Halloween Candy Power Ranking
(Or at least some of it)
1.) Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
Nothing says Halloween like the delicious Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Chocolate and peanut butter- simple and delicious. Even the yellow and orange wrapper screams Halloween.
Cannabis Pairing: Indica (Rockstar Kush by Solei)
2.) Kit Kat
Kit Kat easily has the best Halloween upside. A Kit Kat any other time of the year is good. But a Halloween Kit Kat? There’s something magical about them.
Cannabis Pairing: Hybrid (Headband by Pure Sunfarms)
Not too much chocolate, not too heavy, and that unique flaky peanut brittle style filling gives the Butterfinger enough to squeeze into the top three.
Cannabis Pairing: Hybrid (Flicker Sticks by Trailblazer)
Cannabis Pairing: Indica Dominant Hybrid (Mango Taffie by Good Buds)
Halloween isn’t Halloween without a spirited debate over the best and worst starbursts flavors, except for yellow, everyone knows yellow is the worst. The type of debate that can ruin a friendships and split up families. Where were we? Starbursts shine on Halloween because of the two to a pack fun size. You don’t know what you’re going to get, might even be two red.
Cannabis Pairing: Sativa (Ultra Sour by Namaste)
6.) Smarties and M&Ms (Tie)
The great M&M vs. Smarties debate has spanned decades in Canadian households on Halloween. With the US election around the corner and the world becoming more polarized then ever, we decided to use our platform for peace and include both Smarties and M&Ms as a tie at 6.
Cannabis Pairing: Milled Flower (Flower Power by Shred)
We skipped whoppers on the LA Times definitive candy power rankings for obvious reasons. On to Snickers. The origin of the Snickers bar is a murky, but we’ve been told that somewhere around 1925 Mr. Snicker bought a Mars bar and liked it so much he decided to make his own version, adding in peanuts. But when he tried to re-create the new peanut inspired Mars bar he couldn’t quite figure out how to replicate the texture of the Carmel filling and settled with his more classical caramel filling. The rest was history.
Cannabis Pairing: Indica (Gas Berries #112)
We’re running out of steam. All this talk about Candy and Cannabis has gotten to us, time for a chocolate bar and a J.
