The expression ‘if you give a group of stoners a bunch of weed and nothing to smoke it with, they all become engineers’ has given life to some fantastical homemade inventions – the apple bong, the soda can bong and the banana bong being just a few.
Ever heard of a pumpkin bong? It’s October, so take the apple bong, but make it spooky.
Supplies
- Pumpkin
- Carving tools
- Marker
- Glass downstem
- Bowl piece
- Mouthpiece/straw
Step One: Carve a mid-sized pumpkin like normal, paying extra attention to the size of the cut in the top. It should be large enough to allow you to clean the pumpkin, but not so large that it will interfere with the placement of the mouthpiece or downstem holes.
Step Two: Use your marker to mark a spot for the downstem on the side of the pumpkin at 45-degree angle to the bottom and a spot for the mouthpiece toward the top of the pumpkin.
Step Three: Install the downstem and mouthpiece in the marked spots, being careful not to over-cut – a good seal is key.
Step Four: Add a small amount of water (or don’t, this one isn’t mandatory).
Step Five: Decorate the pumpkin because it is Halloween. This one is optional but … is it really?
